Surfing Life

I used to love watching surfers around the Porthtowan and St Agnes areas in Cornwall. I would spend hours watching and photographing them, watching them be at one with the Ocean and facing whatever she had to pit against them. Yet there was always respect for the Ocean and an awareness that no matter how cruel and deadly Nature can be, there was a connection born of love and respect that transcended any fears of our own mortality.

The thoughts would parallel issues that I was facing in my life and there was no order to them. Random thoughts of hurdles to overcome. Just as there was no order to the waves or the movement of the surfer. I was reacting to the situations that I found myself in, trying to make it to the next day; just as these surfers were making the best of every wave, ready to face the next one.
