Organisations providing Medical assistance for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Please remember that different things work for different people. You maye to try some of the different organisations listed here in order to find the one that works for you. If you are in receipt of a War Disability Pension, treatment will be paid for by the Veterans Agency for some of these options.
If one agency can't help you, do not give up on yourself, find another.
If service related trauma suffered through racism is a factor in your PTSD and you feel that you can't access appropriate support as a result of this, or if you feel that institutional racism obstructs you from getting help, please contact me directly and we can try and find some assistance for you together. There is no cost for this help but you must be willing to move forward and work with an organisation/therapist, should we be able to find one that meets your needs.
Please remember that I have my PTSD to deal with and can't be a therapist for you. My role in this will be to find help for you. I see this as a positive action role to address the effects of racism.
| Generally speaking, the first port of call should always be your General Physician (GP). If you feel that your GP doesn't understand your disability, I strongly suggest finding one that does, as you will need her/his support to access the appropriate care for your condition. | Visit Your GP! |
